Our Khadi desert scarves are hand-spun, hand-woven cloths from India through fair trade co-ops, composed of a 90% wool weft and 10% cotton warp. Wool and cotton are first spun into yarn on a charkha, a spinning wheel, and then hand-dyed exclusively for Garza Marfa. The yarn is then woven on a handloom to produce our scarves designed by us in Marfa, Texas.
Khadi has long been known for its ability to keep the wearer warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The inherent variances of the fabric reflect the beauty of the involved, handwoven Khadi process. They are woven exclusively for us and have a super soft hand. Perfect for our cool desert nights.
